 Hearing Users
Are you a hearing person who wants to communicate
with a Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing person?
You too can use the LIFELINKS service to communicate with them.
You don't need to have a Videophone or Webcam. As long as the party you are calling has a Videophone or Webcam, our interpreters can call the Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing person and communicate with them using sign language.
To call our interpreters:
- Dial 888-SIGN-LANGUAGE (888-744-6526)
- Please notify the interpreter if you would like assistance in another language, for example Spanish or Russian
- Give the interpreter the Videophone I.P. address of the party you are trying to reach
- The interpreter will place the call and interpret between the two of you
Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing Users that want Hearing Users to Call Them:
- Give the hearing user the number listed above
- Give them your Videophone I.P. address
- When they call LIFELINKS, they will follow the instructions listed above to reach you
- Hint: Copy and paste the link to his page and send it in an email to the hearing person
