Make A Call!!
Making a call using sign language has never been easier or faster! If you already have a webcam, all you need to do is download the free SightSpeed software, and you’ll be ready to go!
Requirements:
- A webcam (Creative, Logitech, Ezonics, ADS)
- Cable modem or DSL high-speed internet connection
- A computer meeting the following requirements:
- Operating System: Windows 2000, XP or MacOS x 10.3.9 or higher
- Processor Speed: 1.8Ghz or faster/ Mac G4 800 Mhz or faster
- Memory: 256MB
- Hard Drive Space: 150 MB of available space
- CD-ROM Drive: Required
- USB Port: Required
- Browser: Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1 (or better)
TO DOWNLOAD SIGHTSPEED SOFTWARE (free!)
For both Mac and PC:
1. Go to www.sightspeed.com.
2. Click "Free unlimited Video calling"
3. Follow the directions for the free Sightspeed service"
4. Follow the prompts, then download and install the software.
5. Come back to LifeLinks VRS and click on “Make a call!”
IF YOU HAVE A VIDEO PHONE:
For both SIP and H.323 video phone users:
1. Dial 69.18.207.166
Hearing callers dial 888-SIGN LANGUAGE
LIFELINKS INTERPRETER LIST to make VRS calls instantly, select and add the e-mail addresses below to your Sight Speed contact list. Select and copy the text as you would in any word processing program.
Or high light all e-mail addresses by holding your right button on your mouse and moving your curser over all the e-mail addresses then left click and click on copy. When you go into your Sight Speed all you have to do to go to the contacts page. Then press ctrl V and all the LIFELINKS interpreters e-mail addresses will be added to your list and you can start calling.

Access to Emergency 911 Services
Your Safety Is Our Concern
In the event of an emergency, dial “911” on your telephone or contact local emergency numbers utilizing a TTY.
LifeLinks advanced video relay service technology is being developed to enable access to emergency “911” responders serving your local area, wherever you may be located. This capability will be available to subscribers soon.
Until then, should you experience an emergency requiring immediate assistance, please dial “911” or use a TTY device to contact local emergency assistance. Pending deployment of an emergency access capability, use of LifeLinks video relay service to place emergency calls may delay connection to local emergency responders while interpreters determine current location, locate an emergency responder that serves your area, and then contacts the responder. In some cases, LifeLinks may be unable to locate a local emergency responder and connect emergency calls.
