LifeLinks Privacy Commitment to You

By selecting LifeLinks, Inc. Video Relay Service, you have indicated your confidence in our ability to serve you effectively and responsibility. LifeLinks takes its responsibility seriously and diligently safeguards your personal information. LifeLinks is committed to protect the information you have shared with us. This commitment to conduct business honestly and with your best interest in mind, is the foundation of our Privacy Commitment to you. The following information describes LifeLinks' Privacy Commitment and how it applies to you as a valued LifeLinks subscriber.

When you elect to use LifeLinks' service and download LifeLinks licensed “Sightspeed” software, you accept the practices contained in this Privacy Commitment, as well as applicable Terms and Conditions. This Privacy Commitment does not apply to the practices of companies that LifeLinks does not own, manage, or control, or in instances where you may provide information in a public forum through LifeLinks service.

Your Personal Information is Confidential

LifeLinks regards all information you provide when subscribing to LifeLinks' service as confidential. We collect information to serve you. Collecting personal information makes it possible for LifeLinks to deliver the effective and personalized service you expect. You are asked to provide us with your name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address when subscribing to LifeLinks' service. We may also automatically collect LifeLinks login name and password; computer and connection information such as browser type and version, operating system, and computer platform through “cookies” when you access LifeLinks' service. A "cookie" is a small file containing a string of characters that is sent to your computer when you visit a website. We use cookies to improve the quality of our service and to better understand how you interact with us. Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. You can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. Call detail data is also collected from our systems and information you provide, and are maintained exclusively for purposes of responding to your inquiries and for reporting in aggregate to regulators. When using LifeLinks' service, you will be allowing a Communications Assistant to relay call information. This information will be used exclusively to identify you as a LifeLinks subscriber, to set up your calls and to relay your calls.

Your Personal Information Is Protected

LifeLinks maintains practices to ensure the security and confidentiality of your personal information. We maintain physical security at our offices, passwords to protect our databases, compliance audits, and virus/intrusion detection software in place. Access to your information is limited to LifeLinks employees or contracted agents on a “need to know” basis to enable them to perform their jobs. Specific information used for call set up is available to Communications Assistants only when placing calls. Any retained call content data is destroyed upon completion of the call. Communications Assistants sit in cubicles, which prevent others from monitoring your calls. LifeLinks' licensed “Sightspeed” software creates dynamic internet protocol addresses and firewall protection which precludes hackers from gaining access to your computer while you use LifeLinks service. Your information is not sold or otherwise distributed, with limited exceptions.

Collected Information may Be Shared in Limited Circumstances As Permitted by Law

Your calls may be monitored for service quality and training by supervisors or other authorized management personnel within LifeLinks, but only with your knowledge and expressed consent. LifeLinks may share some information outside of LifeLinks to properly manage our business. This includes sharing to efficiently service your accounts, to comply with laws and for other routine business practices. For example, LifeLinks may need to share your name address and telephone number with established broadband service providers for purposes of installing broadband facilities at your residence or location. LifeLinks may need to provide information to trusted vendors who provide services and functions, such as system programming, maintenance, and repair functions, needed to support LifeLinks' service. Such information is provided under strict non-disclosure agreements which limit the use of personal information. Certain information may be used to report call volumes to regulators and program administrators, to prevent fraud, to comply with court orders, and for tax reporting. S tate laws may require us to send you additional notices or may give you additional rights. If we are required to obtain your permission before using or disclosing information, we will do so. When sharing information with outside vendors, vendors must agree to maintain the confidentiality of your information and use your information exclusively in conjunction with supporting your LifeLinks service. Vendors are expressly prohibited from using your information for marketing purposes, sale, or distribution to others.

From time to time, LifeLinks may provide information to others outside of LifeLinks who are not vendors. If a circumstance arises where LifeLinks will provide information to outside parties, such information will be aggregated and will not enable identification of you as an individual subscriber, or any individual account information. Information provided to outside parties will never be sold. Use of such information by outside parties will be expressly limited.

We believe it is necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of LifeLinks' terms of use, or as otherwise required by law, in cooperation with law enforcement officials.
