 Children's Tutoring Program
LifeLinks continues our proud commitment to furthering the education of and improving the communication within the Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing community by providing school children aged 8 to 17 years with tutoring services.
Tutoring Solutions is offered as a free, non-profit public service for the Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing Community. The program's aim is to assist elementary, middle school, and high school students in completing discrete, school-assigned homework assignments in classes that are part of an accredited school's graduation curriculum. All of our tutoring services are broken up into educational subject specialty, as in mathematics, English, science, literature and history.
Tutoring Solutions' tutors provide assistance on a single discrete assignment per session. Tutors are available to assist in mathematics, English, science, history and literature assignments. Tutors are subject matter-qualified, and trained to assist students in basic course homework assignments.
Once a simple, three-step setup is completed, students can log onto the system to view the available tutoring roster.
- A GREEN LIGHT next to a tutor means that that person is available. Just click on the icon and you will be connected. Ask your parent or guardian to meet the tutor so that they give their approval of the learning session
- A RED LIGHT means that the tutor is busy and may be available soon
- A BLUE LIGHT means that the interpreter is temporarily unavailable and may be back soon
- NO LIGHT means that the tutor is not available at this time
